Premier Polyfilm Q2 Results: Net Profit Rises 22% YoY to Rs 9.81 Crore, Income Jumps 38%
Premier Polyfilm Limited (NSE: PREMIERPOL | BSE: 514354) on October 10 announced its standalone results for the quarter ended September 30, 2026. The company’s net profit rose 22 percent year-on-year to Rs 9.81 crore, against Rs 8.01 crore a year ago. Total income rose about 38 percent to Rs 116.18 crore, compared with Rs 84.13 crore last year.
The company, which makes vinyl flooring, PVC sheeting, PVC geomembranes and PVC artificial leather cloth, released the results after its board meeting. The meeting started at 1:30 pm and ended at 2:30 pm.
Q2 FY27 Highlights (YoY)
- Total income: Rs 116.18 crore, vs Rs 84.13 crore last year (+38%)
- Revenue from operations (incl. GST): Rs 115.06 crore, vs Rs 83.17 crore last year
- Total expenses: Rs 103.07 crore, vs Rs 73.13 crore last year (+41%)
- Profit before tax (PBT): Rs 13.11 crore, vs Rs 11.00 crore last year
- Net profit: Rs 9.81 crore, vs Rs 8.01 crore last year (+22%)
- EPS: Rs 0.94, vs Rs 0.76 last year
Pressure on Margins
Expenses grew faster than income, mainly because of raw material costs. Cost of materials consumed was Rs 68.43 crore, against Rs 41.67 crore a year earlier. That is about 59 percent of total income, compared with roughly 49.5 percent in the year-ago quarter.
By our calculation from the reported figures, operating profit (PBT plus finance costs and depreciation) was about Rs 14.53 crore. That works out to a margin of roughly 12.5 percent, against about 14.6 percent a year ago. Net profit margin slipped from 9.5 percent to about 8.4 percent.
Compared with the previous quarter (Q1 FY27), the picture is better. Income rose from Rs 100.65 crore to Rs 116.18 crore, and net profit rose from Rs 9.08 crore to Rs 9.81 crore.
Half-Year Performance
In the six months ended September 2026, total income was Rs 216.83 crore, against Rs 159.10 crore a year ago (+36%). Net profit was Rs 18.89 crore, compared with Rs 14.01 crore last year (+35%). Half-year EPS was Rs 1.80, against Rs 1.34 last year.
By our calculation, the half-year operating margin comes to about 12.9 percent, against roughly 13.8 percent last year. So profit growth has been steady, but a mild softening in margins is clearly visible.
Balance Sheet and Cash Flow
- Total assets: Rs 222.77 crore (Rs 201.62 crore on March 31, 2026)
- Total equity: Rs 167.75 crore (Rs 147.20 crore in March 2026)
- Debt-to-equity ratio: 0.11
- DSCR: 17.12, ISCR: 56.05
- Cash and cash equivalents: Rs 6.90 crore (Rs 5.04 crore at the start of the period)
Operating activities generated cash flow of Rs 13.22 crore in the half-year. The company spent about Rs 5.81 crore on buying plant and equipment and Rs 1.47 crore on repaying debt. Capital work-in-progress rose from Rs 0.50 crore to Rs 3.97 crore, pointing to new capacity or expansion.
Two things are worth noting. First, other current assets rose by Rs 10.84 crore during the half-year, which tied up part of the cash. Second, the balance sheet shows both current and non-current borrowings as blank, yet the company has reported a debt-to-equity ratio of 0.11. The basis for this should be checked in the annual report.
The company is mainly in the business of flexible PVC flooring, film and sheets, and is treated as a single segment. It has no subsidiary or associate companies.
Auditor’s Report
The statutory auditor, ADV AND CO LLP, has issued an unmodified Limited Review Report. According to the auditor, nothing came to their attention suggesting a material error in the results or any lapse in required disclosures. This is a limited review, not a full audit.
What to Watch Next
Business momentum is strong and the balance sheet looks nearly debt-free, but raw material costs are weighing on margins. In the coming quarters, the thing to watch is how much of the higher cost the company can pass on to customers.
