Jio Platforms IPO: India's Biggest-Ever ₹30,213 Crore Issue Subscribed 22 Times, Allotment Today and Listing Tomorrow
The biggest IPO in the history of the Indian stock market is now at its final stage. Allotment of shares in Jio Platforms, the digital arm of Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Industries, has been finalised. The shares will list on BSE and NSE tomorrow, 28 October 2026. If you had also placed a bid, here is a simple explanation of how big the issue was, who invested how much, and how to check your status.
Issue Size and Price Band
The Jio Platforms IPO was worth ₹30,213 crore in total. It is the largest public issue by any Indian company so far. The price band was set at ₹1,065 to ₹1,119 per share. At the upper end of the band, the company's market capitalisation comes to about ₹10.3 lakh crore.
According to ET Now, the issue received more than 1 crore applications, which is being described as a global record for any IPO. As per The Times of India, the QIB portion drew bids of over 2 times within the first few minutes of opening. According to TradingView, the entire issue was 100% subscribed in about 100 minutes.
How Much Was It Subscribed?
During the bidding window from 21 to 23 October 2026, the IPO was subscribed 22.19 times overall. According to Business Standard and Moneycontrol data, the category-wise picture was as follows:
- QIB (institutional investors): 70.55 times
- NII/HNI: 14.00 times
- RIL shareholders' quota: 7.60 times
- Employee quota: 2.93 times
- Retail investors: 2.72 times
- Overall: 22.19 times
It is clear that large institutions were the most aggressive. Demand in the retail portion was 2.72 times, which means not every applicant was guaranteed shares. This is why many investors will not receive shares in the allotment.
Anchor and Major Investors
Before the IPO opened, ₹8,109.85 crore was raised from anchor investors. According to HDFC Sky, 212 large investors participated. As per The Times of India, LIC was the largest investor among domestic investors, buying shares worth ₹499.98 crore.
According to ET Now, Meta (9.99%) and Google (7.73%) already hold large stakes in the company. Global funds such as KKR, Silver Lake, Saudi Arabia's PIF and Mubadala have also shown interest in this issue.

The Bottom Line
With an issue size of ₹30,213 crore, more than 1 crore applications and over 22 times subscription, this IPO has set a new benchmark for investor participation. The question now is how the market receives it on listing day.
