Saatvik green energy company bags ₹100 crore order from-MSEDCL

Saatvik Green Energy Bags ₹100 Crore MSEDCL Order, 5,000 Solar Water Pumps to Be Installed Within 60 Days

Saatvik Green Energy, a solar module manufacturer, has received an order worth around ₹100 crore (excluding GST) from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co. (MSEDCL). The stock reacted to the news. On the BSE it was trading at ₹400.10, up ₹4.10 or 1.04% from the previous close of ₹396.00.

The stock opened at ₹396.05 and made a day’s high of ₹408.25 and a low of ₹396.05. In other words, the opening price itself turned out to be the day’s low, and buying came in after that.

What Does the Order Include?

The company has received the complete job of 5,000 off-grid DC Solar Photovoltaic Water Pumping Systems (SPWPS). The scope is not limited to supply. It includes:

  • Design and manufacturing of the systems
  • Supply and transport
  • Installation, testing and commissioning at the farmer’s site
  • 5-year complete system warranty
  • 5 years of repair, maintenance and remote monitoring

The pumps will be of 3 HP, 5 HP and 7.5 HP capacity and will be installed at identified farmers’ fields across various districts of Maharashtra.

A simple calculation, dividing ₹100 crore by 5,000 pumps, gives an average of about ₹2 lakh per system. This is a rough estimate, as each pump’s price will differ by HP rating.

PM-KUSUM (B) and the ‘Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana’

PM-KUSUM is a central government scheme, whose full name is Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthan Mahabhiyan. Its aim is to connect farmers with solar energy. Under Component B, farmers get off-grid solar pumps, meaning pumps independent of the power grid, so that dependence on diesel or unreliable electricity is reduced.

The name of the Maharashtra government’s ‘Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana’ explains the idea: whoever asks, gets a solar agricultural pump. Under this scheme the state government provides pumps within the same framework, and MSEDCL is the implementing agency.

This order matters for the company for two reasons.

First reason: the deadline. The work must be completed within 60 days of the issue of the NTP/work order. This is a very tight deadline. Manufacturing 5,000 pumps, transporting them, and installing and commissioning them in fields across different districts is a major logistics challenge. If delivery is on time, confidence in the company’s execution ability will grow and the path to further orders will open. If there is a delay, its reputation could suffer.

Second reason: revenue visibility. Because the period is short, there is scope for this order’s revenue to be booked quickly. In addition, the 5-year maintenance and remote monitoring contract keeps the company connected with farmers and the power utility for a long time.

Company’s Business and Market Data

Saatvik Green Energy and its subsidiaries are mainly engaged in the manufacturing of Solar Photovoltaic Modules. They also provide EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) services. This order shows the strength of the EPC part, where the company takes full responsibility for the project.

Current picture of the stock (BSE, face value ₹2, ‘B’ group):

  • Current price: ₹400.10 (+1.04%)
  • Day’s high/low: ₹408.25 / ₹396.05
  • Last one week’s high/low: ₹421.50 / ₹384.00
  • 52-week high: ₹580.00 (15 October 2025)
  • 52-week low: ₹329.70 (9 March 2026)
  • Market cap: ₹5,105.17 crore

Three things emerge from these figures. First, the stock is about 31% below its 52-week high and about 21% above its 52-week low. This means a recovery phase is visible after a big fall, but there is still some distance to the old peak. Second, last week’s range was ₹384 to ₹421.50, which shows the stock remains volatile. Third, against a market cap of ₹5,105 crore, an order of ₹100 crore comes to roughly 2%. It will be considered important, but it is not an order that will change the company’s picture on its own.

Note that the number of shares traded on the BSE at the time of writing was only 1,474. Treating the price move as a firm signal on such low volume would be premature.

Shareholding Pattern: Large Promoter Stake

  • Promoters: 75.99%
  • Institutions: 11.16%
  • Non-Institutions/Public: 12.84%

A promoter holding of around 76% is generally seen as a sign that the founders have confidence in the company’s future. The 11.16% stake of institutional investors also indicates that institutions are keeping an eye on the company. However, the public float is only about 24%, so liquidity in the stock may stay limited and sharp price swings are possible.

Renewable Energy Sector Outlook

Solar and green energy are a policy priority in India. The central and state governments are running schemes to connect the agriculture sector with solar. PM-KUSUM and the Maharashtra scheme are part of this chain. When government agencies like MSEDCL issue large tenders for these schemes, module manufacturers and EPC companies get direct work.

A company like Saatvik is in an interesting position here because it is in both module manufacturing and EPC. This may give it a larger share of the project value chain. There are risks too. Dependence on government orders, payment cycles, raw material prices and deadline pressure can affect the company’s margins.

What Does It Mean for Investors?

This order is positive news for the company’s order book, especially since it also includes a 5-year service component. Long-term investors can keep this stock on their watchlist and track the following in the coming quarters:

  • How delivery goes within the 60-day deadline
  • Whether the flow of new orders continues
  • Operating margins and the debt position
  • Whether the stock can hold above ₹421.50 (the weekly high)

Making a decision on the basis of one order alone is not advisable. It is better to decide after looking at the company’s quarterly results, valuation and management commentary.
